APEK Parent’s Association

All parents who enroll their child at the International French school Charles de Gaulle, will automatically become a member of APEK. Every family has the right to vote.

Since 2011, the establishment of the Association of students’ Parents (APEK) was formed at the request of French families living in Nur-Sultan. Their request was to have a French school for their children.
APEK a non-profit Association was formed within the French Law (Law 1901). This law protects the object of the material and moral interests of the students.

During the annual General Assembly, parents choose the APEK Board Members: President, Vice President, General Secretary and Treasurer.
The Association’s financial means are:

  • membership fees
  • allocated subsidies
  • amounts collected for provided services
  • donations and attracted investments
  • APEK contributes towards the improvement of the school environment for the students and formulates proposals for the development of the well-being of the student.
The Association gives financial aid and actively supports development of the school.

APEK:

  • participates in educational projects in collaboration with teachers.
  • organizes after-school cultural (art & craft, language clubs) and sport (tennis, badminton, football, ping-pong) events.
  • helps to conduct school events and festivals (Christmas and New Year celebration, Royal Galette, Francophone matinee, Festive Fair…)
  • purchases school materials (stationery, books for the library, sport equipment)
  • finances school trips.

All parents can take active part in APEK which is managed on a voluntary basis. This is an excellent way to participate in the life of the school and to establish links between French, Kazakh and international cultures.
