Pre school

Pre school Introduction

Pre-school presentation

In France, pre-school is the first stage of school education. The age and specific routine of young children aged 3 to 6 years are taken into account in the organization of the school’s life.

A dedicated teaching team supervises the students and ensures their development.

An adapted organization of time and space

Pre-school is not a child care institution, it is a place of academic learning. It is therefore a school in its own right, with specific features linked to the young age of the children taken in.

The pre-school:

• Adapts to the age of children. It welcomes children by opening the doors of the classroom to parents.
• It helps young students to move through the major stages of early childhood, taking into account their individual development. In pre-school, there is assessment but without rating.
• The focus is on positive encouragement to help each student to progress at his or her own pace without getting discouraged.
• Teaches children to work and live together;
• Promotes intuitive and fun learning.
• Students learn through playing, manipulating objects, reciting nursery rhymes, observing the environment and solving problems.

Pre-school contacts:

Children are surrounded by specialists who ensure their learning, progress and safety.

School Principal performs administrative and pedagogical duties.

School teachers, polyvalent teachers, they can teach in primary school, starting from the first year of pre-school to the last year of primary school (CM2).

An assistant accompanies the teacher in the classroom and assists children during school time and other activities such as canteen, daycare, snack. In pre-school the assistant takes care of the physical needs and hygiene of the children.
